Credits + API
Where to find it: Right rail / account menu > My Account > Credits & API

Description
The Credits & API page is where members can view AI execution credit information, manage the AI provider key used by their account, and review or select the model configuration used by their EPX AI team.
This page is mainly for members or account owners using EPX AI systems such as C.A.R.L., TEAMS, Workflows, scheduled tasks, agent actions, or other AI-powered interactions.
Where is it?
You can find this page from the member account menu:
Right rail / account menu > My Account > Credits & API
You can also access it directly at:
https://www.epx.global/settings/credits
Depending on your plan, account status, or team provisioning, some sections may not show usage yet or may not be editable.

What is Credits & API?
Credits & API is the settings area for AI usage and AI provider configuration.
It includes three main sections:
- Execution Credits
- Your API Key
- Model Configuration
This page helps members understand how AI actions are tracked, which API key is being used, and which AI model their EPX AI team uses across supported interactions.
What are Execution Credits?
Execution Credits track usage for AI-powered actions.
The page defines one credit as covering one workflow run, scheduled task, or agent action.
Examples of actions that may use execution credits include:
- A workflow run
- A scheduled task
- An agent action
- An AI-powered execution step
- A connected system action
- Certain C.A.R.L., TEAMS, or workflow-related activities
Execution Credits are different from XPLR Credits. XPLR Credits are engagement/reward credits tied to member participation, while Execution Credits are related to AI system usage. The current Help Center draft describes XPLR Credits as a reward system for engagement and contribution, not as AI usage credits.
Why does my Execution Credits section say credits are not tracked yet?
You may see a message that credits are not tracked for your team yet.
This usually means the account, team, or plan has not been fully provisioned for execution credit tracking.
Once your plan or team is provisioned, this section should begin showing usage or credit information where applicable.
What is “Your API Key”?
The Your API Key section shows which AI provider key your account is currently using.
There are usually two possible options:
- EPX-managed key
- Your own OpenAI key
The default option may be the EPX-managed key.
What is the EPX-managed key?
The EPX-managed key means EPX is managing the AI provider key for your account.
This is the simplest option for most members because they do not need to bring their own OpenAI API key or manage provider billing directly.
What does it mean to bring my own OpenAI key?
Bringing your own OpenAI key means using your own OpenAI account for AI provider access and billing.
Members should only use this option if they understand how API keys work and are comfortable managing usage and billing through their own provider account.
Do not paste an API key into chat, email, support messages, screenshots, or any place that is not the approved secure API key field.
What is Model Configuration?
Model Configuration is where the AI model used by your EPX AI team can be selected or reviewed.
The page explains that the model applies across actions, briefings, schedules, and chat. This means model configuration can affect how supported AI interactions behave across the account.
EPX’s broader platform language describes TEAMS and Workflows as connected AI systems that can use data, tools, workflows, APIs, Zapier, webhooks, and related systems where enabled.
Why does Model Configuration say no models are available?
If no models are available, it may mean:
- Your account has not been provisioned yet
- Your plan does not include model selection
- Your team setup is incomplete
- The provider key is not configured
- Model selection is not currently enabled for your account
- A platform or permission update is required
If you believe you should have access, contact support.
How is Credits & API different from XPLR Credits?
These are two different systems.
Execution Credits are related to AI usage, such as workflow runs, scheduled tasks, and agent actions.
XPLR Credits are member engagement/reward credits. They reward meaningful participation, contribution, and engagement within EPX. Existing Help Center language says members may earn XPLR Credits by engaging with content, completing profile information, joining Pods, attending or hosting events, helping members, and contributing resources.
A simple way to explain it:
- Execution Credits = AI usage and agent actions
- XPLR Credits = member engagement and rewards
Can all members manage API keys?
Not necessarily.
API key access may depend on:
- Plan level
- Account type
- Team permissions
- Whether the account is individual or business
- Whether the AI team has been provisioned
- Whether the feature is enabled for the account
If you do not see API key settings or cannot edit them, your account may not have permission to manage this area.
Who should use the Credits & API page?
This page is most useful for:
- Account owners
- Admins
- EPX+ users managing individual AI settings
- EPxMaxx or EPxUltra business users with AI team access
- Members using Workflows, scheduled tasks, or agent actions
- Members who want to understand AI usage or provider settings
Should I change my API key settings?
Only change API key settings if you know what you are doing or have been instructed by EPX support or your account contact.
Changing API settings may affect AI access, usage tracking, provider billing, or whether certain AI actions work correctly.
If you are unsure, keep the current setting and contact support before making changes.
What should I do if my AI features are not working?
Start with these checks:
- Confirm you are signed into the correct EPX account.
- Go to My Account > Credits & API.
- Check whether your account is using the EPX-managed key or your own OpenAI key.
- Confirm whether Execution Credits are available or still waiting on provisioning.
- Check whether a model is available under Model Configuration.
- Refresh the page and try again.
- Contact support if the issue continues.
What should I send support for Credits & API issues?
Include:
- Your EPX account email
- The page you are on: Credits & API
- Which section has the issue: Execution Credits, API Key, or Model Configuration
- What you expected to see
- What you see instead
- Any error message
- A screenshot, with any sensitive information hidden
- Whether you are using the EPX-managed key or your own provider key
Do not send your full API key to support.
Can support see or manage my API key?
Support may be able to help with general configuration, permissions, and troubleshooting, but members should not share private API keys in chat, email, screenshots, or support tickets.
If a key needs to be updated, use the approved secure field in the platform.
Why is Credits & API valuable?
Credits & API gives account owners and eligible members more visibility and control over AI usage.
It helps members understand:
- How AI actions are tracked
- Which provider key is being used
- Whether AI usage is EPX-managed or connected to their own provider account
- Which model their AI team uses
- Whether setup or provisioning is complete
This is especially important as EPX connects intelligence to workflows, systems, tools, schedules, briefings, and repeatable actions.
