Profile + Fine Tune
Your Profile and Fine Tune settings help EPX understand who you are, what you care about, what you are building, what you need, and what opportunities would be valuable to you.
Your Profile is your personal and professional identity inside EPX. Fine Tune is how you teach C.A.R.L. and the EPX platform what matters most right now, so your Basecamp feed, C.A.R.L. briefings, TEAMS signals, introductions, events, opportunities, and recommendations become more relevant over time.
The more complete your Profile and Fine Tune inputs are, the less generic EPX becomes. Instead of showing random content or broad recommendations, EPX can begin tailoring your experience around your goals, needs, business priorities, interests, travel, skills, relationships, and personal performance focus.
Where is it?
You can access your Profile from the member account/right rail area by clicking your profile or account menu and selecting My Profile.

You can access Fine Tune from the main platform navigation. Fine Tune may also appear as Fine Tune C.A.R.L. because it helps C.A.R.L. learn how to better represent you and bring the right network, knowledge, opportunities, and invites to you.
You may also see profile completion prompts in the account/right rail area. These prompts help you finish important profile sections so EPX can better personalize your experience.
What is the Profile?
Your EPX Profile is your personal and professional representation inside the platform.
It can include things like:
- Your name, location, photos, and professional background
- Your bio and what you are passionate about
- Your interests and areas of impact
- Your business needs and personal goals
- Your education and experience
- Your social links
- Your connections, crew, followers, and following
- Your Pods, activity, and community participation
- Your profile assets and engagement history
Your Profile helps other members understand who you are and helps EPX’s AI systems understand how to connect you with the right people, opportunities, events, content, services, and resources.
What is Fine Tune?
Fine Tune is where you tell EPX and C.A.R.L. what would help you most.
It is similar to giving C.A.R.L. a clearer map of your world. Instead of asking C.A.R.L. to be “generically helpful,” Fine Tune helps C.A.R.L. become specifically helpful to you.
Fine Tune can include information such as:
- Skills your business needs
- Strategic partners you are looking for
- Trusted services you need right now
- Capital needs
- Business goals
- Travel plans
- Events or experiences you care about
- Topics, industries, and interests that matter to you
- Personal performance or wellness priorities
- Types of people, mentors, investors, partners, clients, or experts you want to meet
For example, if you tell Fine Tune that you are focused on leadership, AI, product marketing, healthcare, strategic partners, investors, and project management, C.A.R.L. can use that information to surface more relevant people, events, opportunities, and next actions.
Why does Fine Tune matter?
Fine Tune matters because EPX is designed to bring the network to you.
Without Fine Tune, the platform has less context. C.A.R.L. may still help, but the recommendations may be broader and less precise.
With Fine Tune completed, EPX can better understand:
- What you are trying to achieve
- What kind of help would accelerate you
- Who might be relevant to introduce
- Which events or experiences may matter
- Which experts, partners, or services could be useful
- What kind of knowledge or tactics to surface
- What should appear in your Basecamp feed and briefings
A simple way to think about it:
A basic AI assistant gives general answers.
A fine-tuned C.A.R.L. understands your goals, your standards, your business needs, your interests, and your direction.
How does C.A.R.L. use my Profile and Fine Tune information?
C.A.R.L. uses your Profile and Fine Tune inputs to better understand your identity, priorities, goals, needs, and intent.
That helps C.A.R.L. surface:
- Relevant introductions
- Potential mentors, partners, investors, clients, or collaborators
- Useful events, online events, and adventures
- Helpful knowledge, tactics, and resources
- Opportunities tied to your goals
- Follow-ups and suggested next actions
- Signals in your Basecamp feed
- C.A.R.L. briefings based on what matters to you
C.A.R.L. does not simply show everything. The goal is to filter the noise and bring forward what is most likely to help you achieve more, connect more, live more, and perform better.
How is Fine Tune different from my Profile?
Your Profile explains who you are.
Your Fine Tune settings explain what you want EPX and C.A.R.L. to pay attention to right now.
Profile examples:
- Who you are
- Where you are located
- What you do
- What you care about
- What your background is
- What communities or Pods you belong to
Fine Tune examples:
- What skills you need
- What kind of partners you want
- What services would help you now
- What capital you are seeking
- What events, cities, industries, or opportunities are relevant
- What goals should guide C.A.R.L.’s recommendations
Both work together. Your Profile gives EPX your identity. Fine Tune gives EPX your current direction.
What should I put in Fine Tune?
Be specific and honest. Fine Tune works best when you share what would actually help you.
Good examples include:
- “I am looking for investors for a $500K seed round.”
- “I need help with digital marketing, product strategy, and operations.”
- “I want to meet strategic partners in healthcare, longevity, AI, and women’s wellness.”
- “I am traveling to New York and interested in AI events, fashion shows, and founder meetups.”
- “I need trusted resources for financial management, HR, and project management.”
- “I want introductions to people who understand product marketing and community growth.”
The more useful your inputs are, the more useful C.A.R.L. can become.
What happens after I complete Fine Tune?
After you complete or update Fine Tune, EPX can use that information to improve what appears across your experience, including:
- Basecamp feed
- C.A.R.L. briefings
- TEAMS signals
- Network notices
- Event and adventure recommendations
- Introductions and connection opportunities
- Helpful content, tactics, and resources
Fine Tune is not a one-time setup. You should update it whenever your goals, business needs, travel, priorities, or interests change.
How often should I update my Profile and Fine Tune settings?
Update your Profile whenever your personal or professional information changes.
Update Fine Tune more often, especially when:
- Your business priorities change
- You are looking for different types of partners or experts
- You are raising capital
- You are entering a new market
- You are traveling to a new city
- You want different kinds of events or experiences
- You are focused on a new health, leadership, or performance goal
- You are no longer interested in something you previously listed
The more current your Fine Tune inputs are, the more relevant your EPX experience becomes.
What if my Basecamp feed or C.A.R.L. briefings do not feel relevant?
First, review and update your Profile and Fine Tune settings.
Make sure your current needs, goals, skills, partner interests, service needs, travel plans, and topics are accurate. If those areas are empty, outdated, or too general, C.A.R.L. has less information to work with.
If your Profile and Fine Tune settings are complete but recommendations still feel off, contact support and include:
- What you expected to see
- What you are seeing instead
- Which section feels inaccurate
- Any examples of irrelevant briefings, events, or recommendations
Can other members see my Fine Tune answers?
Fine Tune is designed to help EPX and C.A.R.L. personalize your experience. Members should assume their profile-facing information may help others understand who they are, but Fine Tune inputs are primarily used to guide relevance, recommendations, briefings, and support from EPX systems.
Do not enter sensitive personal, financial, medical, legal, or confidential business information unless EPX specifically requests it through an approved secure workflow.
Why should I complete my Profile and Fine Tune?
Completing your Profile and Fine Tune helps EPX work better for you.
It helps:
- C.A.R.L. understand your goals and priorities
- Basecamp surface more relevant briefings and signals
- TEAMS provide more useful business recommendations
- Other members understand who you are
- EPX connect you with better opportunities
- You receive more relevant events, resources, introductions, and next actions
The more EPX understands you, the more the platform can help bring the right network, knowledge, and opportunities to you.
